Discover a Winter Wonderland on a Breckenridge Vacation

Take a break from everyday life this winter and set off on a memorable vacation. For a destination filled with snow, charm, and fun, look no further than Breckenridge. This popular Colorado town is a popular winter vacation destination, and for good reason. A Breckenridge winter vacation is one filled with endless adventure that’s sure to create lifelong memories.

The first step in planning your winter escape is finding the perfect vacation rental. For years,
Alpine Meadows Management has been a trusted partner for vacationers looking for a vacation home or condo. Not only do we provide an incredible variety of Breckenridge rentals, but our team is local. This means we’ve enjoyed a Breckenridge winter or two and can provide first-class recommendations. Keep reading to learn about some of our favorite things to do once the snow starts falling.

9 Things to Do in Breckenridge in the Winter

  1. For some of the best skiing and snowboarding in the area, head to Breckenridge Ski Resort. There are trails and lifts for all levels.
  2. For a more flat skiing outing, try cross-country skiing. We recommend checking out the trails at the Gold Run Nordic Center or Breckenridge Nordic Center.
  3. Bundle up and explore this winter wonderland on your two feet. There are several incredible winter hikes to choose from, including the Sallie Barber Mine Trail and Boreas Pass Road Trail.
  4. For a bit of speed on your exploration, go snowmobiling. Places like Breckenridge Snowmobiling Tours & Rentals and Good Times Adventures offer memorable guided tours.
  5. Warm-up and soothe sore muscles at nearby hot springs. Places like Iron Mountain Hot Springs and Cottonwood Hot Springs are home to pools known for their healing minerals.
  6. Try something new by going dog sledding. Good Times Adventures offers a six-mile tour that takes you through the Swan River Valley.
  7. Stop by a local coffee shop to grab a hot chocolate and explore downtown Breckenridge. We recommend The Crown, Cool River Coffee House, or Mimi & Pin Churros & Waffles.
  8. Lace up your skates and live out your figure skating dreams. The Stephen C. West Ice Arena offers several public skate sessions a week and has rental equipment.
  9. Time your visit right to check out the International Snow Sculpture Championships. Taking place in January, this annual event attracts countless visitors and teams of outstanding sculptors.
